The Pro Photographer Showdown is an awe-inspiring celebration of the craft of action sports photography, bringing together some of the world’s best to share some of their all-time favourite images capturing sport, culture and the human spirit. Regarded by many as one of the preeminent action sports photography events in the world, over the years the Pro Photographer Showdown has seen some of the top action sport and lifestyle photographers in the game take the stage.

How do you strip the art of film down to its most raw? Invite teams to shoot, edit and produce a short film in just 72 hours. That’s exactly what teams take on in the Swatch 72hr Filmmaker Showdown, with each short film shot within a 100 k.m. radius of Whistler. Post-production trickery, exotic locations, superstar talent, and big budget advantages? Not in this filmmaking contest that levels the playing field, rewarding originality, skills and talent.

Clif Intersection presented by Protect Our Winters Canada is an event that pushes chosen crews of artistic snow sports visionaries to their limits as they work to shoot, produce and edit a 5-7 minute ski/snowboard film in just seven days.

Most frequent questions and answers
You will just need to bring your ticket PDF with you (which you’ll find in your email). There is a barcode on this PDF so have it available on your phone ready to be scanned at the door when you arrive. Or if you prefer, you can always print it up at home and bring the paper copy with you.
The ticketed events at the Whistler Conference Centre have a “No Ins & Outs” policy. So once you’re in the building, mingle, grab a drink, take a seat, relax and enjoy the show.
No problem! Just search for your tickets in your email. If they somehow got deleted, send us a message and we can quickly re-send them straight to your inbox.
You sure can. Just send them or give them the PDF so that they have it on them when they arrive to the event and we’ll scan them in. Of course, each barcode can only be used once so make sure you’re sending them the right one to avoid any confusion.
Sorry, tickets are non-refundable.
Food and drinks. Plan to eat before you come because you won’t be able to bring that slice of pizza into the building with you. As per BC liquor laws, you also can’t bring your own alcohol but don’t worry, we’ve got cash bars ready to serve you as soon as you get there.
There is paid parking under the Royal Bank/Whistler Conference Centre. That does fill up quickly on event nights though so check out the Day Lots next (1, 2, 3 & 4). Or better yet, take a cab or the bus into the Village in case you decide to have a beverage or two.
