Whistler Dogfest

Free fun for four-paws and two.

Since 1998, canines of all stripes have been invited to lead their owners, in finest frockery, in the 200 strong Dog Parade at Whistler’s beloved Dogfest, a celebration of tail-wagging, drool-heavy love.

Exhibitions, agility demonstrations and comps guarantee some quality master canine bonding. Lisa Sun and the K9 Incredibles with their Canuck pugs wow with flyball, frisbees and tricks. Paws to Dance take Dancing with the Stars to a whole new level. Ask questions of our holistic vet, identify your mutt’s ancestry with DNA testing from DNAmydog, or spruce up your dog-smarts with seminars of dog body language with trainer and behaviour specialist Amber Cottle.

Proceeds support Whistler Animals Galore (WAG), a Whistler-based no-kill animal shelter. Since 1982, WAG has been working towards its mission of protecting and enhancing the lives of lost, unwanted and homeless animals, as well as raising better dog-owners through advocacy and education.

As the beneficiary of DogFest, WAG has been a Festival charity since 1998.  www.thewagway.com

The location is 'TBD' at the top of the website. I will be driving in tomorrow and dont know where to go ... we are first timers with 2 excited dogs.

Hi there this looks like a fantastic event. I have put my name to be a Volunter for the telus festival and would love to be a part of this. How can this work?

Hi Ayla - send an email to Catherine at volunteers [at] watermarkinc [dot] ca and let her know you signed up but would also like to be a volley at Dogfest. Great choice, I try not to miss it, despite everything going on - it can't help but put a smile on your face - dog lover or not - and I'm definitely the former!
