The V Foundation is hosting its 2nd Winter Benefit Series taking place in Whistler, BC from April 15th through April 18th alongside the World Ski & Snowboard Festival. The Foundation started with the dream of Jim Valvano and was formed to help fund cancer research, and find cures for it. Jim Valvano was a former NC State and National Champion basketball coach as well as an award-winning broadcaster. Throughout the final ten months of his life, he used his battle with cancer to bring attention to this terrible disease. Founded by ESPN and Jim Valvano, The V Foundation has raised over $100 million and awarded cancer research grants in 38 states and the District of Columbia. This Winter Benefit Series will feature a Charity Hold’Em Poker Tournament and a Winemakers Dinner, as well as Apres Ski and Cocktail Receptions, and complimentary ski passes, all to benefit the foundation. In addition to the foundation’s offerings, guests will have the opportunity to attend numerous festival events, competitions, and showcases.
SUNDAY, April 17th
On Sunday April 17th The V Foundation for cancer research will host a Charity Texas Hold’em Tournament at the Westin Resort. Guests will have the opportunity to go head to head against some of poker’s greatest professional players and take home amazing prizes, including a cash payout, all while contributing to a tremendous cause, the fight against cancer. Also featured at the event will be a silent auction full of unique items from sports & entertainment memorabilia to once in a lifetime experiential getaways, all benefiting The V Foundation.

MONDAY, April 18th
On Monday evening, April 18th, The V Foundation will host its staple awareness event, the Winemaker’s Dinner. This year for the Winter Benefit Series at the World Ski & Snowboard Festival, it will be held at the Westin Resort’s intimate Aubergine Restaurant in its private dining area. Our vintner showcase at Aubergine will be John Anthony Wines, a delectable wine-maker out of Napa, California. Tasted and paired, numerous of John Anthony’s vintages will be enjoyed alongside a feast of four courses prepared by the Aubergine’s head chefs. Below is more information on how you can participate in this unique dining experience, while supporting a tremendous cause in The V Foundation.
