You don’t need to go to the urban streets to find art that resonates with grit, tension and the stank of a counter-culture. State of the Art fills the Whistler Conference Centre Foyer with mind-bombs and eye-candy from break-out contemporary artists from the worlds of street and snow. This is a world in which nobody is colouring inside the lines.

Ten days of love. At the root of all we do, and all we did, is love. Love for the mountains. For the snow, the exhilaration, the features. The songs, the bass, the beat and the words. The fabric, the style, the cut and fit.

Year 15 of WSSF, and year 6 of the Grenade Games have come to a close. Some memories are clear, some are fuzzy and some will come back to me at some point in the future.

Taking a small idea and turning it into something grandiose and perhaps even controversial is what G.D. Maxwell loves to do. In fact, the Pique Newsmagazine pays him to do it on a regular basis.
