10pm The Sh*t Show - GLC
Living up to its name right off the bat, we had to move the Sh*t Show to Saturday night so that we could bring you Trevor “Trouble” Andrew! Trev has just released his major label debut album “Dreams of a troubled man” and this will be the first time the Trouble gang has hit Whistler to roll out the new material. If that’s not enough for you, we have the legendary Smalltown DJs from Calgary to heat the place up and then keep it going after. Will it be hard to get into? Yes it will. Will it be the show everyone is talking about for the rest of the week? Yes it will be!
10 PM The Late Show
The Conference Center is the only place in Whistler that could host a party this big. The lineup will blow your mind and keep you up late.
Sunday, April 17, 2011
12 PM The Mogul Mash
We invented this event a couple years ago and as far as we’re concerned it’s the best way to spend a slushy Spring Sunday in Whistler. Head to head slalom through a mogul course while all your friends cheer, music pumps, and hotdogs fill the grill. If you can’t have fun at this event, you can’t have fun.
8 PM Pub Night
Darts, pool, pub food and beer. A pub is a good place to spend a Sunday night.

11 AM-1 PM Boarderstyle Time Trials | 2 PM Finals
Who says snowboard contests never change? How do you feel about 4 riders, head to head, racing through a couple boardercross berms and then launching a giant booter? All at the same time. This event is judged and timed so the best trick has to be better than the fastest rider. Who’s going to win? Who knows?
Results: Winner: Jon Versteeg
Prize Money: 1st place $5,000

11 AM Dustin Craven’s FUN Pipe Jam
Dustin Craven would like to cordially invite you to his version of a halfpipe contest. If you don’t know the inside of Dustin’s brain, then be prepared to experience a unique interpretation of transition riding from one of the true characters in snowboarding. Our “tap out” format keeps it lively, as crappy runs will earn you a trip to the spectator gallery. Last man standing takes home the BIG CHECK
Results: 1st Giom Morisset | 2nd Justin Lamoureux | 3rd Brad Martin
Prize Money: 1st $5,000 | 2nd $2,000 | 3rd $1,000 + announcer cash giveaways $1,500
10 PM The Sideshow - GLC
Everyone likes a theme party and this one is all about the circus sideshow. Snake handlers, tarot readers, magicians and belly dancers will make sure the night gets good and weird. And who better to write the soundtrack than Whistler favourites Vinyl Ritchie, and back from Prague, a man with more Whistler history than most, Czech! It wouldn’t be The Show without The Sideshow.

WTF The Sh*t Show is moved to Saturday at 10 same time as the Late Show? ... I already have tix for the Late Show... but the Sh*t show sounds way better at this point (Trouble Andrew). Can I get a refund? or go to both? or am I just screwed stuck going to the wrong party?
The Sh*t Show is pretty much an industry event that Monster has a guest list for, and you have definitely done the right thing by getting a ticket to The Late Show, THAT will absolutely be the best kick-off party!
Where is the Sh*t Show and Pub Night?
Do I need to buy lift tickets to see the snowboarding events this week? And if so, should I buy them ahead of time? Also, is there snowboarding going on for the general public this week or just for competitors? I usually just do the Olympic Run because I'm still a beginner, will I be able to go snowboarding on this run during the festival?
You should organise your lift passes prior to the event as you can get good deals for multi-day passes. And yes, you need a lift pass to see the Pipe and other snowboarding events. Both Whistler and Blackcomb, including Olympic, will be open for general public, and there's been some amazing snowfall recently so you've certainly chosen a good time to enjoy not only the Festival but the slopes!
it seems like skiers have a lot more happening... why is that ?? you guys should give more info... what's the prizes for the slopestyle, is there any snowboard big air ??
Actually there are more events for the snowboarders, there are four events for snowboarders and three for skiers.
There is not a Snowboard Big Air - the Slopestyle at the base of the mountain has taken it's place for the last three years and the feedback from the athletes has been that they would prefer that over the Big Air.
You're right we should have the prize money posted - we'll make sure it's up on Monday.
slopestyle ?? big air ?? comon guys moguls really... LAME SO LAME i was excited to see it wouldn't be the grenade games anymore, but now i regret it... where are you danny kass, come save whistler !!! even the buttercup is going to be better then your shit a** show !!!
Danny and crew will be back. We've been acting on feedback from the riders. They wanted to have a fun event, one where competition and prizing wasn't the focus but the focus was hanging out with their fellow riders and up and comers and having a good time.
This event has been created by riders for riders - that's been the priority.
If you're a rider and you have an opinion then shoot us a note - we'd be happy to add your thoughts to the mix. info [at] wssf [dot] com
What happened to slope style? Who cares about moguls.
There is still the Monster Slope Style at the base of the mountain as in past years.
what time will reg start on march 14?
Noon PST
Why can't there just be a regular pipe contest so the Best pipe riders from around the world can come to compete?
We ran that format for years, tried something new and have had a great response from riders around this new format. We'll continue to keep our ear to the ground with our partners at Monster and try to deliver what the riders want. If you, and other riders you know want a more conventional pipe contest drop me a line - it's good to hear from as many people as we can. email is sue(at)watermarkinc.ca
