2012 CONFIRMED ACTS:
APRIL 15th
Opener: TinPan Orange
Since their early days as Australian folk darlings, brother-and-sister duo Tinpan Orange have evolved into a dizzyingly original musical force. Still evident is the lush songcraft and lyrical depth for which they are renowned, but the landscape in which the songs are set has shifted.
Headliner: Cat Empire
Where hip-hop meets reggae, where jazz is played with dirty hands, where a Cuban line meets an Aussie rule, where nothing seems in place but sounds like many places played in one earthy chord. This is the island where THE CAT EMPIRE was born. (Written by the band in 2001)
APRIL 22ND
Headline: The Sheepdogs
While most rock bands are all too focused on the riff, the Sheepdogs remember the importance
of those other elements that make for great rock music: melody, harmony and groove. To see
them live is pure rock and roll jubilation, to revel in the splendour created by 3 part vocal
harmonies and heavy hitting dual guitar leads. Their latest album, "Learn & Burn", is a beautiful blend of power and imagination, ranging from ferocious rockers to southern boogie and grooving psychedelia. Big guitars, stacked harmonies, vintage organ and piano skillfully colour each of the album's 15 tracks, proving that these boys are as dedicated to the craft of songwriting and album making as they are to playing a dynamite live show. The Sheepdogs are an old-school rock and roll revival.
Full Schedule to be announced as confirmed.

Thanks Straighty. Much appreciated.
Vacation would be MADE if Mariana's Trench was playing THIS weekend not NEXT weekend!! SO sad!
What happened to Gogol Bordello?
Noticed they aren't playing Telus, and have cancelled of other shows.
Hey JE - unfortunately there was a death in the family of one of the performers - as a result they cancelled the rest of their shows (Though I believe they are still playing Cochella). They are very apologetic and we hope to work with them in the future. We were really looking forward to the show.
for the concerts, do you need to buy a ticket for the festival?
Nope Concerts are free! The majority of the festival is free.
Oh wow...how come no Marley's this year? The Marley's always bring it home. Even local reggae/rock music of 'Kostaman', would be such a Mountain treat!
Delhi 2 Dublin - OK, so Kytami is not with them anymore ... but they now have 2 fiddle players. Still excellent and the show that has me pumped the most! "Harmonizing" indeed!
brutal final weekend line-up
Hmm.. that's a very personal, limited opinion, with no suggestions of what would make it "not brutal". We're stoked about the final weekend, amazing range of incredible artists. For FREE! Broaden your mind I suggest.
Where's Excision? Heard he was playing on the 16th?
He is at the "Late Show" event at the conference centre - tickets are $35.
wats with the line up? dissapointing. wat bout 420.
Is swollen members free to go to
Hi Jack,
They are - they will be playing on the main stage at skiers plaza
Why not Michael Franti again?
Hi Bill, We love Franti as well - he wasn't available in this time slot, he's also blown up so huge, that he's likely out of our price range, even with the "friends and family" rate that they give us.
Great to see Brother Twang on the bill again.Spirit of the west and Deli 2 Dublin , the 17th sounds like a great day of Music
Hi Jack - should be a great day - super stoked to see local boys Brother Twang on the big stage.
4/20 --- epic lineup. puff puff
Any chance on the crash kings?
Not for this year I'm afraid - we're out of spots and out of cash. Maybe another year.....
Start hitting us with suggestions in November for the 2012 line-up!
YEAAAAAH GOGOL BORDELLO. gunna wet my pants for that one.
SUE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BOOKING KO!! :) can't wait for telus fest. the music line up looks outstanding. GREAT JOB!
Thanks to you and others who suggested it - Wasn't on our radar but when we had a look, it was a great fit. It's a fun thing about the music for this festival, its a collaberation of many people.
Two weeks and the stage will be built!
I saw YUCA a couple years ago as I came off the lift and they are amazing - wicked band live! For sure gonna catch them again this year!
They are great - they won our GM battle of the bands that year.
Would Red Eye Empire be up for another visit...?
No doubt they would, but we're done for this year. They do come to town quite frequently so keep your ear to the ground.
Sue, I really hate the fact that I am missing Swollen Members! This is all of your fault! hah just kidding, it sucks but my trip is already booked so what do ya do! I was supposed to head back to Van to catch my flight Monday morning, do you have any idea what time KO would be on roughly if this information can be made available?
By the way, thanks for all the communication! It helps make everyone feel like part of the team!
Sue Rocks, Beers on me at the dam!
Thanks Lyndy,
If KO accepts our offer and can swing it they'll be opening for Ozo at 2:30 on Sunday on mainstage. So your Monday flight should work.
Sorry about Swollen, too bad, you'll have to pick up their new album out on April 12th I believe.
Should hear back about KO tomorrow. It will be to support Ozo if they accept. Swollen Members will be added on Saturday April 16th (Heard one of their new tracks today - can't wait to hear the rest). We've confirmed our Tuesday line-up, will be posted soon and have an addition to Sunday the 17th, also should be posted tomorrow.
So I think we're done. Thanks for all the suggestions, and comments.
wheres classified? or sonreal?
Nathan, Check out: http://www.wssf.com/event/parties-nightlife for deets about Classified and SonReal
Classified is playing April 24th at Garfs - CIA concerts is the promoter. Should be an awesome show!
So we booked our first trip to Whistler with no idea that this festival would be on... the holiday just got way more exciting! Someone mentioned two door cinema club who actually come from my home town - would be amazing if they could play! Looking forward to the whole thing.
Should be a good one!
Rumour has it that Swollen Members is playing the mainstage on the 16th. Okay, there isn't a rumour - but thinking I'll start one. Swollen drops a new record a few days before the festival. Can't wait to hear the new material!
Get Pretty Lights to come up and play from Colorado!
:)
Where would a band get in touch with someone involved in bookings for the show?
