Face of the Festival 2010
The 2010 TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Face of the Festival is....
MISSY STENZL
Who is Missy Stenzl? She’s the 2010 Face of the Festival. “Kind of a country girl” – from Elgin, Ontario, population 300.
A psychology graduate, she spent last winter snowboarding and working at Lake Louise, and then came to Whistler to snowboard in September 2009. “I’ve been having an awesome winter so far.” Missy works for the mountain, selling lift tickets, where the computers can only access certain websites, one of which is wssf.com. So when things are quiet at work, she and her friend would check out the TELUS Festival program and get amped. That’s where they saw the Face of the Festival contest. “You should enter this,” said her friend. “You’d be so fun.” “She thought I’d be good at it, because I’m so loud. She helped me come up with the idea of my face being everywhere.” She’s most stoked about the Fashion EXPOSED show. “My sister just graduated from fashion school and we’re both really into design.” And Grenade Games. “I love snowboarding.” As far as the advice provided by her predecessor, Miranda Furtado, Missy is worried that she’ll have trouble laying off the Monster Energy Drinks. “I have to be careful there.” As for where she’s headed next, Stenzl’s only plans are to spend 2 months backpacking around Europe from May… and beyond that “I don’t really have a life plan. I’m just hoping it will all fall into place.” Looks like that might be the perfect plan. <!--EndFragment-->
The TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival is scouting for a fresh face to step up as the 2010 Face of the Festival and host the Festival’s daily video highlights for Dose.ca in Whistler, BC, from April 16-25 2010.
The 2009 Face, Ontario fashion student Miranda Furtado, proved she could be articulate, effervescent, party all night and still keep it together the next day. Sure, she needed to sleep for three days when it was over. But then, she was hired on as Style Editor as Dose.ca. And now she’s ready to pass the crown.
Have you got what it takes?
Duties include: interviewing bands, athletes and surprise celebrities, skiing or snowboarding all day, having front row seats at sold-out fashion, film and photo events, hanging out with pro athletes, and getting the ultimate insider experience of all the action.
If you can represent the Festival’s manifesto, and have the stamina to step up to the camera every day for ten days straight, then post a 60 second audition video arguing why you should be the Face of the Festival. Go to wssf.com for submission details.
Entries and inquiries should be directed to:

Is Lindsay supposed to get less spam because her email address is "lindsay [at] watermarkinc [dot] ca" ... when that's followed immediately by "lindsay@watermarkinc.ca" ?
Also: careful you don't get sued for $100 million by that other Lindsay.
