Quatchi won't be able to come to Big Air Bear's 7th birthday bash... because he's being mothballed!
After years of public service, the Olympic mascots "retirement" looks less like a trip to Florida and more like a trip to the bottom of the ocean wearing concrete boots.
VANOC handlers rebuffed an invitation for Quatchi and friends to join the free family-friendly Mascot Mayhem party with the following admission: "Unfortunately, after the Games, the mascots retire and the costumes aren't used publicly anymore."
The secret silencing of Quatchi and Miga has already happened - Sumi is the only mascot currently making public appearances, and his last bittersweet appearance will be March 21.
Big Air Bear is broken-hearted and sogging up his furry chest with tears... he's considering starting a facebook group, "1,000,000 people to Save Quatchi from being Mothballed."
