How do I even begin to explain the best night of the year... The venue was a perfect match as usual with "Watermark" and "Olympus" making the night all it could be! Whistler's favorite host "Feet Banks" and his mariachi band kicked off the show with style as they took the stage. The top ten films of the show all had winning characteristics as did the crews that put them together. However there can only ever be one winner. One team that just like the others will stay awake for days on end trying to complete their masterpiece in hopes of walking away with the "Big Cheque". Fortunately thanks to Olympus last night's winner walked away with an added bonus of "$5000" for using the "Olympus Pen E-PL3".
After 4 years of entering this competition I had the honor of being a part of the winning team this year, "Team Zero". Though to me I would say that each crew is a winner just for being a part of a team. Collaborating as one, being there for each other to overcome the stresses and complications of making a successful film. Now I realize that as nice as it is to walk away with the grand prize it comes no where near the value of getting to live this dream with your closest friends.
As one of the films demonstrated last night, we do live in a bubble. A bubble that we understand from the inside out. A bubble that can't be popped.
Thank you Whistler
