Whistler, World Ski and Snowboard Festival

April 18 - 25 | 12pm - 6pm daily, 8pm - late on gala ticketed event nights
Grand Foyer, TELUS Whistler Conference Centre

You don’t need to go to the urban streets to find art that resonates with grit, tension and the stank of a counterculture. You just have to enter the basements of the resort world.

State of the Art is the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival’s NEW art show.
A statement, a question, and a whole new way of looking, STATE OF THE ART gathers the underground scapes brewing beneath the cities and mountains, and transforms the TELUS Conference Centre Foyer into a place of mind-bombs and eye-candy.

Featuring break-out and renowned contemporary artists from the worlds of street and snow, State of the Art picks up where Brave Art (2006-2008) left off, and asks what the hell are you looking at?

Showcasing over 30 artists in a 150 plus piece installation, art mediums include canvas, sculpture, skate decks, photography, film and graffiti. DJs, drinks, livepainting and an artist reception make the State of the Art opening a must-do event.
